INTRODUCTION

Cambridge International AS and A Levels are international in outlook but retain a local relevance. The syllabuses provide opportunities for contextualized learning and the content has been created to suit a wide variety of schools, avoid cultural bias and develop essential lifelong skills, including creative thinking and problem-solving. Their aim is to balance knowledge, understanding and skills in qualifications which enable candidates to become effective learners and to provide a solid foundation for their continuing educational journey.

Cambridge International AS and A Level curriculum are flexible. It is possible to offer almost any combination from a wide range of subjects. The full A Level is a two-year course, and AS Level is typically one year. Subjects can be started as AS Level and extended to a full A Level.

How many A-Level Subject should I take?

At MAHSA International School we encourage students to take four (4) subjects including IELTS and continue to study them to A-Level standard. However, in special circumstances it might be possible to discontinue studying one subject after one year, to devote more time to the remaining three (3) subjects.

What combination of subjects is recommended?

It is vital that you choose your subjects with care. Talk to your parents and teachers about the courses you are interested in. Talk to students already studying for A-Levels about the subjects. Think about your future plans. There are common combinations of subjects, that often complement each other, and the option blocks from which you choose will have been based around these. Find out as much as you can.

Our school offers a number of subjects. This flexibility means we can build an individualized curriculum, and learners can choose to specialize in a particular subject area or study a range of subjects.

Students at MISKL will need to study a maximum of 4 Subjects in total.
English will be compulsory, plus 3 subjects from the list mentioned below

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 5 credits (grade C and above) in SPM / IGCSE O Level or equivalent with a minimum of B in English.
